Happy Valentine’s Week! I really enjoy the holiday of love- it is a great way to celebrate your love – and not just with a significant other but with friends and family as well. I also love the colors, decorations and creating cute gifts to give. I usually think of something creative each year to give Miguel for V-Day but this year we decided that we are going to do a joint Valentine’s/Miguel’s birthday weekend in Des Moines and get a hotel, have a nice dinner and treat ourselves at the mall instead. What are your Valentine’s plans and traditions? I’d love to hear!
That being said, I still couldn’t resist not making something cute and festive for the holiday because I love stuff like that. So last week I was at home and was thinking how I already had Oreos, white chocolate chips and Valentine’s sprinkles on hand. I love chocolate covered Oreos and thought to myself, how hard could it be to make my own? So I did! And let me tell you, there is nothing easier or cheaper. Anyone can do this and it took no time at all and I really think they look so put together. These are great to package up and give as a Valentine or just keep for yourself because they are yummy too 🙂
All I did was melt white chocolate in a glass bowl (do this slow in small intervals on a low temp stirring often) then I dipped half of the cookie in the chocolate, laid on wax paper and covered with sprinkles. You must work quickly though because they dry fast!
There you have it. Seriously, there are no tricks here and it’s so easy for even the most inexperienced in the kitchen but yields a super cute product 🙂
And then since I had left over chocolate I decided to cover some pretzels as well because Miguel loves them.
Hope you enjoy! Are there any other super easy Valentine’s treats out there to make? Share below!
