Skin Care Routine For Oily Skin

Skin care routine for oily skin products to use

So today I am going to be sharing my skin care routine. I have super oily skin, large pores and blackheads and the occasionally breakout along my chin. Sounds lovely, right? Well this is why I take super good care of my skin and my routine is very important to me. All of this is a twice-daily ritual for me, no exceptions. Hopefully this will help another sister out who is struggling with her skin, because my skin has come leaps and bounds compared to what it used to be. Also, none of this is sponsored, I just truly love these products and have been using them for a long time (some since I was 14) and they are the best I have used.

My Skin Care Routine:

Wash Face with Cetaphil Oil Control Foam Wash: I have always used Cetaphil face wash but once I started using this oil control version, it has been the best thing to happen to me! It really sucks the oil right out without being over-drying. It’s the most important part of my routine and I use it every morning and night.

Use Clean and Clear Persa-Gel: I use this for spot treatment and problem areas. It helps make zits go away fast! I use every morning.

Use Neutregena Oil Free Moisture for Sensitive Skin: I have been using this since my dermatologist recommended it to me 9 years ago when I had severe acne. I will never use another face moisturizer, this is the best. I use it every morning and sometimes at night if I am extra dry.

Lip Scrub from Lush: It’s only natural that I also have super chapped and cracked lips to go along with my oily skin!! This is a relatively new addition to my routine but have been loving it for months to keep my lips looking and feeling smooth. Then I finish it off with Blistex Medicated Lip Balm. I don’t mess around with anything smell good or pretty, I just want the job to get done! I use this every morning after I brush my teeth.

Blackhead Eliminating Scrub: I use this once a week (or try to). It really decreases the amount of blackheads I think!

So that’s it. Relatively simple routine and most everything is from the drugstore! These are the products that work for me. What products do you love to combat oil skin and blackheads? I’m thinking about buying a clarisonic. I hear so many good thing about them and I wonder if it would help me out. What do you think?

Thanks for reading along and have a great weekend!

  1. Hey girl! Happy Friday!
So question, with you using the LUSH lip scrub, do you use any of their other products? I’ve been meaning to go into this store and explore and try out some new things. If you have any recommendations, I’d love to hear some. I wear liquid eyeliner daily and I’m wondering how it holds up, stuff like that. If not, no worries girl. I’m definitely going to check out the lip scrub though.

    Have a great weekend! 🙂

    1. Other than the lip scrub I have used the lush bath bombs which I love! Otherwise I haven’t used any of their other beauty products. You should definitely try them out though!

  2. These are all great tips and wonderful products. I have oily skin epsecially in my t-zone and it used to drive me insane how my makeup would disappear after a few hours at the office. Choosing the right products is key to getting your skin under control.

  3. Great tips!! I have somewhat oily skin, mainly during the summer time. I did not know that Cetaphil had an oil face wash. I may have to check that out. I am currently using Soap & Glory The fab Pore cleanser and love it. It has really improved my skin with the crazy breakouts I’ve had recently.
