Happy Monday!
I thought it was due time for another one pot meal. And since it has been awhile since I’ve done a pasta one (the kind I make the most) I also thought I would make one of those to show you all how simple (and tasty) dinners can be 🙂
I have a new love for smoked sausage, it’s a great change up for us from beef/chicken. This recipe has a little kick to it but it is really not bad at all, so I think most people will like it!
Spicy Sausage and Spirals
What you Need:
-One box of shortcut pasta, I originally wanted shells but rotini worked fine!
-One pound of smoked sausage (I buy one of those johnsonville precooked links and cut them into pieces)
-Minced Onion and Garlic (I use the dried seasoning kind, you could use fresh) About a tablespoon of each
-Olive Oil
-About a teaspoon of red pepper flakes, depending on desired spice
-One can of chicken broth
-One 8oz can of tomato sauce
-One can of Rotel
-About a 1/4 of a pint of heavy cream (I know a weird amount but I but 1/2 pint containers)
-About a 1/2 cup of Parmesan shredded
What to do:
-Heat sausage, olive oil, onion and garlic in a skillet
-Once heated through, add your pasta, Rotel, chicken broth and red pepper flakes
-Cook pasta on medium/medium-low for about 10 minutes
-After ten minutes I left on heat but added the tomato sauce and combined and then the heavy cream and parmesan, stirring and combining on the heat.
-Depending on how cooked your noodles are, you may need to leave on heat little longer, but after about 14 minutes total on heat my noodles were good to go.
Enjoy!
Thanks for catching up! More Christmas fun is coming to the blog this week so be sure to come back Wednesday and Friday!
