Weekend in Chicago

Hi Friends!

We just did a short weekend trip to Chicago to spend some time with my Dad and Jill. (And also see my sister and her boyfriend!) It ended up being a little bit of a restaurant weekend with a ton of great places we visited. So if it looks like all we did was eat, that is because that’s basically what we did lol! So I’m going to show you where we ate for a weekend in Chicago!

We drove into my dad’s on Friday night after work and then Saturday headed down to the city. First stop was for lunch at XOCO. I’ve been there a couple of times before and it’s so good. It is a Mexican sandwich shop and everything they have is great. I got a chicken sandwich and Miguel got a short rib sandwich and we were both happy campers.

Then we checked into the hotel. We picked a hotel that was just a few minutes walking distance form everywhere we wanted to go and it worked out so perfectly! We stayed the Springhill Suites in River North- it was a really good hotel as too and we were really happy with it so I definitely recommend.

After that we met up with my sister and her boyfriend at Three Dot’s and a Dash, which is a Tiki Bar that I have wanted to go to for a while now. The entrance is through an alley way and you walk down stairs to a basement so it’s a little different getting there but it’s so cool inside! Definitely a great theme. They have Tiki Drinks in cute cups and good appetizers too.

When we were done with drinks we went back to the hotel for a little downtime and resting (because all that food and drinking takes it out of you) before dinner. But after a little nap we were ready to go out again to RPM Italian, another place I’ve been wanting to go. The dinner was phenomenal – all the food was great and everyone was happy with the selections. It was a great restaurant.

Sunday morning we woke up and got ready to head to brunch at the Hampton Social – another place on my bucket list. I really wanted to go there for the atmosphere and the Rose All Day sign but the food was also SO GOOD. I got the breakfast burrito and Miguel got the chilaquiles and we were both impressed. Highly recommend, and we are definitely going again!

Also the Froze was SO yummy too!

Well that was our quick weekend trip with tons of eating but it was so worth it to make the trip and stay downtown so close to all of these amazing restaurants!

Thanks for catching up!
