It officially feels like Summer and I am ready to recap our vacation from last week! We spent one week in Florida visiting the Sarasota area and then Disney World. Today’s post is going to focus on the first part of our trip. I’ve been traveling to Sarasota/Siesta Key since I was 18 months old and have been there more than any other destination. I was happy to bring Miguel for the first time to see my favorite vacation spot. My dad and step-mom recently bought a house in the area and we were excited to see that as well. We stayed at their house for the first three nights of our vacation which was really nice.
It was SO hot the whole time we were there. I think the “coldest” high the entire time we were there was 93 degrees, and it got up into the 100’s one day. It was much hotter than usually for May but we made the best of it.
Saturday
We flew into Sarasota Saturday morning and got in around noon, met up with my sister and her boyfriend and went out to lunch at a local brewery.
Vaca Shirt | Shorts | Sandals
Then we headed to the house and changed into our swimsuits and headed to the neighborhood pool for sum sun and drinks.
For dinner we went to our favorite restaurant, Cafe Gabiano’s which is a really great Italian place on Siesta Key. (We usually go at least twice if we’re there for a week).
Sunday
On Sunday we got up and got ready for brunch at Ophelia’s which is a restaurant right on the water. It had some really pretty views.
Then we did our shopping around Siesta Village and picked up some souvenirs. Then we headed to St Armands (one of my favorite shopping/dining areas) and shopped, got some snow cones (because it was HOT) and ate lunch at another favorite, Tommy Bahama’s.
Monday
Monday was Memorial Day and beach day! We have beach access at my dad’s timeshare on Siesta Key and it is such a pretty beach. I’m glad Miguel got to enjoy it. We spent the whole day there and it was so fun. We packed our lunch and drinks in coolers and spent a lot of time in the water. The perfect beach day.
For dinner we headed to another long time favorite, Phillipi Creek Oyster Bar. This is one of my favorite places for their fried gator and shrimp Alfredo.
After dinner we were absolutely beat and after showers we packed everything up to get ready for DISNEY the next morning and went to bed early.
Our time in Sarasota was short but fun and we tried to squeeze a lot in but I’m looking forward to many more trips to Sarasota in the future!
Thanks for catching up!
