Branson Babymoon

If you would have asked me when we first started to try to get pregnant where I wanted to “babymoon” I would have told you the Bahamas, maybe even Florida, but not Branson, Missouri. But unfortunately, a global pandemic and being extremely sick for the first half of my pregnancy really threw off any plans of having a beach-bound babymoon. We had a Florida vacation booked but cancelled it because the thought of being somewhere hot sounded terrible to me (plus COVID cases). I thought about where else we could possibly go and settled on Branson, which seems a little random but it was basically the closest place we could drive to that had a Marriott Resort lol. Plus I knew the weather would be nice in the FALL.

We left on October 1st, when I was exactly 24 weeks, which I recommend as a great time for a babymoon because I was completely out of the sickness phase, had energy and wasn’t too big yet (though I was just starting to get uncomfortable sitting for long times/walking). But I am glad we didn’t go earlier or later.

We checked into Marriott’s Willow Ridge resort and pretty much immediately headed to the hot tub. I just put my feet in but Miguel fully enjoyed it 🙂 it was not too hot or cold out and the hot tub was perfect and no one was around and we were just able to relax. The resort grounds were also really nice. For dinner we got carryout from a nearby Italian restaurant that was our favorite food of the trip!

Because of COVID we did carryout for pretty much all of our meals and also ate leftovers in the hotel room.

The next day we headed to Top of the Rock and did the Lost Canyon Cave golf cart tour. This was probably my favorite thing of the entire trip. It was perfect Fall weather and the tour was beautiful. It was worth the cost because it was quite a long tour and you got to see so much! I had no idea that there would be waterfalls in Branson but there were!

Later in the day we went mini golfing – there were ton of mini golf places in Branson but we went to the one right next to our hotel. We love mini golfing so this was fun.

Then we stopped at a nearby Christmas store because I read about it and couldn’t help myself.

The next morning, we went on a nature walk on a trail right along Mark Twain lake that was really nice and pleasant as well. We like going on little “paved” hikes especially on cool Fall mornings. Then we grabbed lunch and relaxed the rest of the day.

That was pretty much our trip – it was short and sweet but we were able to get away to some place new and relax by ourselves for a little bit before baby comes, which was nice and I’m glad we did it even though it wasn’t what I had envisioned originally!
